What can be detected in the eluate?

The so-called eluate is the fluid that is filtered out during the treatment. It reveals which substances are actually circulating in the body. It shows what has burdened the body: environmental toxins, heavy metals, inflammatory substances, or other pollutants.

Substance groups that can be removed during INUSpherese®

Heavy metals and metals

These substances originate from environmental pollution, dental materials, contrast agents, or industrial emissions. They can accumulate in tissues and block metabolic processes.

Examples: Aluminum, lead, cadmium, mercury, nickel, gadolinium, platinum, palladium, copper, zinc, manganese, uranium, chromium, arsenic.

Environmental toxins and pesticides

They enter the body through food, drinking water, or the air. Many of these substances have hormone-altering effects and impair the liver and the immune system.

Examples: DDT, DDE, Aldrin, Endosulfan, Hexachlorobenzene, Chlorpyrifos, Heptachlor epoxide, Tolylfluanid.

Solvents and volatile organic compounds (VOCs)

These substances are produced, for example, by paints, varnishes, adhesives, or cleaning agents. They are particularly harmful to the liver, nervous system, and hormonal balance. Examples include: benzene, toluene, xylene, ethylbenzene, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, and 2-propanol.

Insecticides (pyrethroids)

Often found in insect sprays or pesticides. Even small amounts can affect nerve function. Examples: cyfluthrin, cypermethrin, deltamethrin, permethrin.

Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs)

Formerly used in varnishes, paints, and plastics, now banned – but still present in older materials. They are considered endocrine disruptors and carcinogens. Examples: PCB 101, PCB 138, PCB 153, PCB 180.

Halogenated hydrocarbons

Chemicals found in cleaners, solvents, or plastics that can severely impair the body's natural detoxification processes. Examples: tetrachloromethane, trichloroethene, dichloromethane, dichloroethene, trichloromethane.

Immune complexes and inflammatory substances – key factors in chronic diseases

In addition to environmental toxins and heavy metals, INUSpherese® also removes endogenous substances that play a crucial role in chronic diseases. These include immune complexes (antigen-antibody compounds), inflammatory mediators such as cytokines and interleukins, as well as pathological proteins and autoantibodies.

These substances play a key role in the development of autoimmune diseases, long COVID, ME/CFS, and chronic inflammatory conditions. They are not always directly measurable in the eluate itself, as many of these protein molecules are sensitive. However, their presence becomes indirectly visible – for example, through turbidity or intense coloration of the eluate, which indicates a high burden of proteins and inflammatory substances.
